In our house, half the battle is figuring out WHAT to make for dinner. This is always easier with a plan! Grab our free printable weekly meal planner, which includes a spot for your grocery list and pantry inventory.
Meal Planning to Avoid Takeout
Well, here we are with another new printable. And just like the printables that have come before this one, it’s one that I definitely need in my life! While I’m sure there are people out there who can fly by the seat of their pants when it comes to weekly meals, I am just not one of them. When I don’t have a plan, I am 95% more likely to skip a home cooked meal for a take-out alternative.
There are two huge problems with that: the cost and the calories! Yes, it’s quick and yes it most likely tastes good… but sometimes takeout is just not worth it.
Last month I posted our No Spend Challenge printable and we were challenging ourselves to avoid takeout for dinner for 1 month because our takeout habit got so out of hand during the holidays. As January comes to a close, we were able to avoid most takeout temptations, with a couple of exceptions. I’m going to count that as a step in the right direction.
Weekly Meal Planning Printable
So another step in the right direction is this new printable. Meal planning is a simple way to stay on track – both budget and calorie-wise. It really helps to take a few minutes each week and plan out what you are going to eat. I tend to meal plan on weekends for the week ahead.
Another helpful part of this printable is the Pantry Inventory (where you can note what you already have on hand to plan your meals) and the Grocery List (where you can jot down the food items you need to pick up at the store or toss in your Instacart order).
