Easy Candy Turkey Treats with Hershey’s
See how easy it is to make these adorable turkey treats with some popular Hershey’s candies!
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and in what seems like the blink of an eye, our thoughts have turned from jack ‘o lanterns to turkeys. The kids love any kind of themed treat I seem to come up with and I am always on the lookout for a new seasonal snack for school parties, etc. For years, I have seen turkey treat variations on Pinterest, many that use Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups or OREO cookies as the turkey’s body. My snack is similar, but I put my own spin on them. I was inspired by the mountains of leftover Halloween candy on my counter and grabbed two of my fave classic Hershey’s treats – the always-amazing PB cups and some Hershey’s Kisses.
Turkey Treat Ingredients
You only need a few easy-to-find ingredients to make these cute gobblers. I used Wilton candy melts to “glue” the pieces together. You can choose any color you’d like for the candy melts. I used a dark brown color.
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (original size)
Hershey’s Kisses
Candy Corn
Candy Melts
Candy Eyes
Candy Breakdown (you will need the following candy for EACH turkey you want to make): 1 Reese’s PB Cup, 1 Hershey’s Kiss, 2 candy eyes, 4-6 candy corn
How to Make Turkey Treat Candies!
1. Unwrap Reese’s PB Cups and Hershey’s Kisses and set them close to your workspace.
2. Melt 5-10 candy melts in a microwavable bowl. I usually melt them at 15-30 second intervals, stirring in between cooking intervals When the candy is melted you’re ready to go. Be prepared to work quickly as the candy melts will harden pretty fast. (And if they harden to the point where you can’t work with them, simply heat back up in the microwave.)
3. Dip the bottom of a Hershey’s Kiss into the melted chocolate and affix it to the peanut butter cup.
4. Use the same technique to stick 2 candy eyes on either side of the Kiss and 4-6 candy corn to the outer edge of the peanut butter cup.
5. Set peanut butter cup aside to allow the candy to harden.
6. Repeat for additional turkeys!
