Easy Instant Pot Spaghetti Recipe
Ever wonder how to make Instant Pot Spaghetti? It’s actually pretty simple! Check out our easy Instant Pot Spaghetti recipe and you will be enjoying some tasty pasta in no time!
What? Instant Pot Spaghetti?! Yes!! Entirely possible! We made this Instant Pot Spaghetti Recipe for the kids the other day and they loved it! The recipe makes a LOT of pasta so we had leftovers for a couple of days. One thing to note: the first time we made this, we broke the dry spaghetti in half before cooking. Some of the pasta stuck together and didn’t cook completely. The next time we made this recipe, we broke the spaghetti into smaller pieces which worked better!
Pasta is always our go-to dinner when we need a quick and easy meal. Though the ironic thing is that cooking pasta the traditional way (in a pot of boiling water on the stove), can be a little tedious. You can’t stray too far from the pot and, depending on the stove, a big pot of water can sometimes take a bit of time to boil.
Try making spaghetti in your Instant Pot next time!

Instant Pot Spaghetti Ingredients:
:: 4 cups water
:: 1 lb spaghetti
:: 2 tbsp butter
:: pinch of salt
How to make Instant Pot Spaghetti:
1. Add all ingredients to Instant Pot.
2. Secure lid to cooker and set the pressure knob to “seal.”
3. Set on “manual” mode and select 3 minutes.
4. That’s it! Instant Pot will take approximately 20 minutes or so to heat up and build pressure. Once it builds, the timer will start ticking down from 3 minutes.
5. When the timer goes off, allow the cooker to do a natural (NOT QUICK) release for about 5 minutes, followed by a quick release. There is so much liquid in the pot, if you do the quick release method right away, it will shoot scalding buttery steam all over the place. (I may or may not be talking from personal experience.) If you NEED to do a quick release, put a dish towel over the vent to catch the moisture.
6. Remove lid and serve! We topped ours with sauce and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

How long do you cook it for linguine or fettuccine?
You might have to experiment to find what works best, but I would take on another 1-2 minutes for thicker pasta.
What do you use if your instant pot doesn’t have a manual mode?
I’m sorry, I’m not sure. It’s such a quick cooktime to begin with – does your cooker have any modes that allow for just 3 or 4 minutes of cooking time?
Does your pot start any kind of timer once it reaches pressure? I would think that you could set a kitchen timer once it reaches pressure and then hit cancel after the desired time of cooking has completed.
I keep getting “burn” message. I had to add so much more water to it
Wow! I always felt like I had a little too much water. Your cooker might just cook hotter than mine. Good call on adding more water.
Can you add precooked frozen meatballs in with this?
I haven’t tried this personally, but I’ll bet you could!
