Very Berry Smoothie – Zero Weight Watchers Freestyle Points

Very Berry Smoothie

Update: so apparently smoothies are not zero points on WW’s current program.  You can read more about this train of thought here. My own personal opinion? I do agree that WW is saying many people drink smoothies quickly which can lead you to be hungrier sooner.  Me personally?  A smoothie like the one pictured above would take me about two hours to drink.  I drink smoothies superrrrrr slowly.  It’s almost alarming how long it takes me to drink a smoothie.  That’s why I almost NEVER have a smoothie for breakfast – I don’t have two hours to work on that first meal of the day.  So officially per WW, this smoothie (nor any other smoothie) is NOT zero points. As for me, knowing it’s going to take me a couple of hours to work through 1.25 cups of berries, some ice, almond milk and 1/4 c ff Greek yogurt? It’s a zero for me. In this situation, you do you.  Whether you count it as 0 points or add up the fruit points, it’s still a super refreshing, relatively low calorie snack or meal option as you strive to make healthier choices!

One delicious treat that we never get tired of in this house?  SMOOTHIES!

We drink smoothies a lot.  It’s fun to play around with the different ingredients, though fruit (berries in particular) almost always end up being key players!

Here is a great (easy!) smoothie recipe you can try. Check out the new myWW Program (formerly Weight Watchers).

I’d love to hear what YOUR favorite smoothie recipes are!

  1. This looks super yummy. My favorite smoothie right now is 1 Cup almond milk, 2 Tbsp chocolate PB2 powder, and a frozen banana and some ice. Might sprinkle in a little Stevia. I love it.
Thanks for the recipe and I was thinking my banana was 0 points in my smoothie. Thanks for that reminder. I’m in my first week of WW.

  2. I love smoothies! I use water in place of milk/almond milk to reduce the points. I will attempt using plain Greek yogurt. Normally I use vanilla Greek yogurt. Cheers!
