CVS Christmas Clearance
No doubt, this deal is probably the very best candy score we have ever found. Right now CVS stores have Christmas merch on clearance for 90% off regular price.
It’s important to note – this deal is a YMMV deal (your mileage may vary, your experience may vary by store). Some stores are excluding CANDY and other food items in the 90% off discount and still have those products at 75% off. You will need to take the candy at your store to the coupon scanner to price check before purchasing.
What made this deal even sweeter, there was a $1/2 M&M candy coupon that came out in the 1/11/15 Red Plum insert.
We found the 12.6 oz bags of Christmas color M&Ms ringing up for $.43 (90% off). We had (10) of the $1/2 coupons. The coupons were giving us $.07 overage on every bag, so we threw 4 additional bags into the pile to eat up the overage.
We bought:
(24) bags of M&Ms at $.43 each
We used (10) $1/2 coupons from the 1/11 RP
We paid a grand total of $.32 for ALL 24 BAGS. That’s less than 2 cents per bag!
And if you’re reading this and thinking, “Why in the WORLD would you buy all of those M&Ms in the first place?” save yourself the effort in typing a comment.
Because what you should really be asking is, “Why in the world WOULDN’T I let CVS practically GIVE me all of those M&Ms?!”
Rest assured, I will not be consuming 24 bags of M&Ms.
Things I will be doing with them: freezing some for desserts later in the year, separating many of the bags by color and making everything from Valentine’s gifts (with the red) to St. Patrick’s Day and Earth Day treats (with the green). I will be giving some to friends and family, I love to share the freebie love. These candies don’t expire until 9/2015 so I have 9 whole months of M&M’ing fun coming my way. :D I’m off to go start searching for projects on Pinterest…
